SmartPro Financial Welcomes Four New Partners – Expanding Our Mission to Leave Normal Behind
Bradenton, FL – January 17, 2025 – SmartPro Financial is proud to announce the addition of four new partners. Since its founding in 2017 by Richard Godfrey, Brian Wheeler, and Richard Godfrey II, SmartPro has remained committed to helping families achieve financial freedom through a Ramsey-style approach to wealth management. This new milestone strengthens the firm’s mission of empowering more individuals and families to leave normal behind.

The new partners bring diverse backgrounds and expertise to SmartPro’s leadership team:
- Carlos Limon – A Mexico City native, Carlos is dedicated to serving Spanish-speaking communities, working alongside Andres Gutierrez to provide financial guidance to an underserved audience.
- Ben McPherson – A veteran and former Federal Agent, Ben has a deep-rooted passion for service. He now channels that dedication into helping families achieve financial security.
- Jesse Shaw – Holding CFA, CFP, and CKA credentials, Jesse has been instrumental in developing SmartPro’s first-in-class investment models, ensuring they align with the values of Ramsey-minded clients.
- Derek Coffren – A prior small business owner with an entrepreneurial spirit, Derek is a natural leader who prioritizes relationships, mentorship, and client success.
Since assembling a leadership team in 2021, SmartPro Financial has continued to evolve, reaching a significant milestone—$1 billion in its investment models & $2 Billion of total AUM. While the new partners will play a pivotal role in furthering SmartPro’s mission, the company’s core leadership remains unchanged, with Brian, Rick, and Rick II still at the helm.
