I especially love working with members of our United States Armed Forces. Navy, Air Force, Army, Marines, Coast Guard (and soon to be Space Force!). The men and women who serve in our country’s military deserve a homefront support system that provides proactive financial insight and wisdom. Life with the military presents unique challenges and opportunities that we help point out during and after the Active Duty career phase.
The military has been part of my life for generations. My grandpa, my dad, and two of my uncles graduated from the US Naval Academy, and my other grandpa was a retired Major in the US Marine Corps.
Born in San Diego, the first decade and a half of my life was spent moving every 2 years and occasionally writing letters back and forth to my dad while he served on 4 overseas deployments. He faithfully served our country during his 25 year military career as a submarine officer. We moved to duty stations in California, Washington, Virginia, and Hawaii. When he retired at 47 years old, he was able to make lifestyle and retirement choices not available to many others his age. This unique aspect of military life provides endless paths to pursue at a relatively young age. Let’s optimize the choices you’ll have on your journey!
My money philosophy: Personal finance is primarily behavioral, but also based on thoughtful decision-making backed by well-thought-out math. I guide clients through the Dave Ramsey 7 Baby Steps, help them build a portfolio with a mix of mutual fund investments to seek growth and/or income through stocks, bonds, and real estate funds, and offer encouragement and advice along the way.
