Anu is quite an inspiration. Although everything she owned fit inside just two suitcases when she moved to the United States from India in her twenties, she was packing a ton of drive and ambition!
A self-proclaimed nerd, Anu completed a double-major masters in Computer Science and Mathematics from a premier engineering college in India, the Birla Institute of Technology and Science. As if that’s not impressive enough, she also has a masters and PhD in Operations Research (Applied Statistics) from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
In addition to being a dedicated SmartVestor Pro, Anu loves walking around Francis Beatty Park. If you don’t see her there, she may be teaching Bob Ross Oil Painting, coaching Beachbody classes, singing classical Indian music, crocheting and knitting pieces for craft fairs, watching basketball, or volunteering. Just don’t ask her to cook or garden! Anu teaches Financial Peace University classes in her living room and at a church in Monroe, and she helps to instill great financial values in the younger generations by teaching high-school students Foundations in Personal Finance. She even taught her son Financial Peace Junior and Foundations in Personal Finance with the Homeschool Edition!
Anu went from being a poor immigrant to being financially peaceful in Baby Step 7 which can help us all be inspired to accomplish our own goals and know that reaching that final step is possible with determination and drive!
